Report: Alabama walk-on wide receiver transferring to FAU

A former Alabama walk-on receiver will head to a new school to pursue more playing time.
Per a report from AL.com’s Matt Zenitz on Saturday, Crimson Tide WR Chris Herring will join Lane Kiffin’s Florida Atlantic University squad for the 2019 season.
Herring will be a walk-on receiver at FAU, too, but he’ll try to carve out a bigger role for himself than he did in three years at Alabama.
Herring is from the Tampa area, so FAU isn’t too far away. He hasn’t recorded any stats for the Crimson Tide the past three seasons.
How he fares at FAU remains to be seen, but we’ll see if he can earn himself a scholarship.
