On Saturday afternoon, Texas Tech hosted Baylor in a battle of 5-6 squads with a bowl berth on the line.
The result? A 35-24 Baylor victory, meaning the Bears will be going bowling while coach Kliff Kingsbury’s Red Raiders are done for the year.
According to KENS 5, Kingsbury is now without a job, as he has been fired following Saturday’s loss.

Per the report, Kingsbury has never won more than four Big 12 games in a single season:
The San Antonio native spent six seasons in Lubbock, where he accrued a 35-40 record. In 2013, Kingsbury started his head coaching career with an 8-5 mark, but since then he has yet to earn more than seven wins in a season and has never won more than four games during a Big 12 conference schedule.
This is the second Big 12 job to come open this season, as Kansas fired David Beaty a few weeks ago and subsequently hired former LSU coach Les Miles.
