Days after reports linked Arkansas defensive coordinator Robb Smith to Wake Forest, the Razorback assistant now looks to be heading to the Big Ten.

A source told ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg that Smith will become the new defensive coordinator at Minnesota and an announcement is expected later this week. He notes that if Arkansas decides to go with an internal replacement that defensive backs coach Paul Rhoads is a candidate for the position.

With Arkansas coach Bret Bielema openly considering a switch to a 3-4 defense, it appears Smith has been looking to leave Fayetteville. A report last week had Smith becoming the next defensive coordinator at Wake Forest.

Smith joined Arkansas in 2014 after working with Greg Schiano at Tampa Bay in 2013 and at Rutgers from 2009-12.
