On Saturday, Oklahoma State’s creative method of distracting Texas’ field goal kicker made the rounds in online media and social media.
At Boone Pickens Stadium, the video board displayed a series of yellow lines to attempt to mess with the Texas kicker. It appears the video-board distraction isn’t here to stay.
According to ESPN college football reporter Sam Khan Jr., Longhorns coach Tom Herman shared that the Big 12 has declared OSU’s distraction tactic as “not permissible.”
We’ll see if the Pokes try something else in OSU’s next home game on Nov. 28 against Texas Tech.
#Longhorns coach Tom Herman said he spoke with Big 12 officials about this tactic by #OKState last week and he was informed that it is “not permissible” and has been addressed by the league. https://t.co/BuVSPYqaK2
