Kelly was arrested on August 12 and charged for breaking an iPhone after getting kicked out of a Five Points bar. He missed at least two practices following the incident, but returned to action on August 16.
Head coach Will Muschamp, who said Kelly would not miss any game time after the incident, said that discipline would be handled within the program.
The redshirt senior transferred to South Carolina in January 2015 as a walk-on and was the only punter to go through spring drills that offseason. He averaged 44.3 yards per punt and a 41.3 net punting average last season, which helped the Gamecocks rank second among SEC teams and seventh nationally in net punting.
