New details have emerged in the assault of Noah Frillou, a Texas resident who was allegedly beaten a group of men that included Alabama DB Deionte Thompson, who was back in his home state during Alabama’s spring break.

According to court records (via BamaBlog.com), video evidence in the case is available and shows the alleged assault in progress.

Thompson was booked at a Tuscaloosa jail last Thursday on “fugitive of justice” charges after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

According to BamaBlog.com, Alabama coach Nick Saban said late last week that he’d wait for more details to emerge in the case before deciding on Thompson’s punishment:

“We are still in the process of gathering all of the facts in Deionte’s situation,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said in a statement last Friday. “He has been excused today to cooperate with law enforcement in this matter.

“Once we have a better understanding of what happened, we will make a determination as to what needs to be done in terms of the appropriate course of action moving forward.”

In light of this new potential evidence, Saban may soon be forced to make a decision on Thompson.

If the video does indeed show that Thompson was a major player in the assault on Frillou, though, any suspension handed down to the former 4-star recruit may end up being the least of his concerns.
