James Robinson, a 2017 4-star wide receiver, was cited for possession of marijuana during a visit to Ohio State earlier this year.

However, Florida coach Jim McElwain took a chance on the talented receiver and added him to the Gators’ 2017 recruiting class.

Now, one of the last hurdles Robinson had to clear to gain NCAA eligibility has been cleared, as ESPN reporter Gerry Hamilton tweeted that the Lakeland High School athlete has qualified for collegiate play:

According to the 247Sports composite, Robinson is the No. 14 receiver in the class of 2017 and the No. 21 overall recruit from the state of Florida.

Robinson was one of 11 4-star signees in the Gators’ 2017 recruiting class.
