Florida assistant head coach Randy Shannon will take full control of defensive play-calling responsibilities for the Outback Bowl against Iowa, per Pat Dooley:

On Monday, defensive coordinator Geoff Collins accepted the head coaching position at Temple.
In all likelihood, Shannon will receive a promotion and become the Gators’ full-time DC heading into the offseason. He has a resume worthy of the job and is more qualified than any other potential candidate, also giving coach Jim McElwain both continuity and flexibility if (and when) the “co” is taken off his job title.
Florida and Iowa will collide on Jan. 2 at 1 p.m. ET, and the game can be watched on ABC.
