Published:
It looks like former Alabama LB and current San Francisco 49ers rookie LB Reuben Foster will miss time with an ankle injury.
Foster was injured during the 49ers first regular season game of 2017 against the Carolina Panthers. He did record three tackles before his injury. It remains to be seen how long Foster will be out. You can see a video of Foster’s injury here.
The 49ers are trying to rebuild the organization and took Foster with the 31st pick of the 2017 NFL Draft. His absence will leave a big hole for San Francisco’s defense to fill.
Ian Rapoport reported Foster’s injury as a high-ankle sprain on Twitter:

Foster has already made a strong impression after posting strong plays in the preseason. Hopefully, he can return to action quickly.
Foster finished his Crimson Tide career with 211 total tackles and was a part of the 2015 national championship team. He was awarded the 2016 Butkus Award as the nation’s top linebacker and was a unanimous All-American.
