It looks like one year at UConn was enough for former Auburn OC Rhett Lashlee.
According to Sports Illustrated reporter Bruce Feldman, Lashlee is leaving the Huskies to take over as the new OC at SMU. Lashlee, who has spent the majority of his career as an assistant for Gus Malzahn, was finishing his first season as OC at UConn after a stint at Auburn from 2013-16.
The Huskies offense certainly struggling in Lashlee’s season at the helm. Their 23.6 point per game ranked No. 103 in the country and scored less than 20 points three times.
SMU is moving on under new head coach Sonny Dykes after Chad Morris left the Mustangs to take the head job at Arkansas. Will Lashlee be able to produce at SMU?
