Published:

Al Golden was Miami’s coach from 2011 to 2015 before being fired seven weeks into the 2015 season.

He’s been an assistant with the Detroit Lions ever since, currently serving as the team’s linebacker coach. Now, though, he’s suing his former school to get some money he says he deserves after being fired.

According to TMZ, Golden is suing for a total of $3 million he says he’s still owed by the Hurricanes:

Golden says he signed a massive multi-million dollar contract to lead the Canes back in 2011 — a deal loaded with incentives. The contract says Golden’s initial base salary was $150k per year but the upside was tremendous.

Unclear exactly how Golden got to the $3 million he’s asking for in the lawsuit — but saying it’s “separation pay” that he never received based on their deal.

More details aren’t known at this time, but it’s safe to say there will be some more on this as the weeks go on.
