Report: Former Mississippi State DT Fletcher Cox defends home from intruder with shotgun

Former Mississippi State and Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox reportedly defended his home with a shotgun from an intruder carrying a baseball bat. The incident occurred last week and was first reported by Action News in Philadelphia on Wednesday morning.
Based on the court records, the home intruder’s name was Corbyn Nyemah. He showed up at Cox’s house looking for his ex-girlfriend. He allegedly damaged her vehicle and attempted to enter the home by throwing rocks at the front door.
Cox has a recording from his home’s video surveillance cameras that show Nyemah also tried attempting to enter the garage with a baseball bat.
Cox says that at that point, he found his shotgun and called the police. Nyemah then left in his Porsche SUV, but the U.S. Marshals caught up to him rather quickly.
According to Action News, Nyemah wouldn’t go into specifics but said much of the criminal complaint from Cox is true. He also said he just wanted to talk to his ex-girlfriend about possibly getting back together.
The ex-girlfriend has gained a temporary restraining order against Nyemah. He is expected to make an appearance in court before the end of the month.
Cox played three seasons for Mississippi State from 2009-11. In eight seasons with the Eagles, he’s earned four Pro Bowl bids and one All-Pro nomination.
