The last few months have been a wild ride for one of Mizzou’s finest defenders since the program joined the SEC.
Kony Ealy, a former Missouri defensive end who turned in a historic performance in Super Bowl 50, was claimed by the New York Jets Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
Ealy, who entered the NFL with Carolina as a second-round draft choice in 2014, was most recently with New England. The Patriots released the former Tiger earlier this week but now he is a teammate again with his cousin, former Missouri defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson.
NY Jets claimed former Patriots' DE Kony Ealy on waivers, per source.

Playing for Carolina against Denver in the Super Bowl, Ealy had three sacks and intercepted Peyton Manning as he became the only player in Super Bowl history to record multiple sacks and an interception in the game.
The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Ealy was acquired by New England in a March trade with a third-round draft choice in exchange for a second round pick.
Patriots are releasing DE Kony Ealy, source said. Tried him in their scheme. Not a similar style to Ninkovich so it didn't work out.
