Former Alabama standout OL William Vlachos is heading to the NFL to become an assistant coach, according to ESPN’s Chris Low.
Former Alabama OC Brian Daboll joined the Bills’ staff earlier this off-season in the same role, and it would appear that Vlachos’ connection is with Daboll. Most recently, Vlachos served on Alabama’s staff as an analyst. He joined Alabama’s staff in 2013 as a graduate assistant.
Vlachos attended Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham, and he started at center for three seasons at Alabama. In 2011 as a senior, he became a finalist for the Rimington Trophy and was a second-team All-American. Following his career at Alabama, he signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent but did not make the team.
Former Alabama All-SEC center William Vlachos has joined the Buffalo Bills’ staff as an offensive assistant. Vlachos was most recently an analyst on Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama. Vlachos was a part of four national championship teams at Alabama as either a player or coach.
