After missing the 2019 season, former Texas A&M cornerback Brandon Williams is reportedly getting another NFL opportunity.

Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network reports that Williams is expected to sign with the New York Giants. He was visiting the club Tuesday and needs to go through protocol before the signing becomes official.

Williams was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played 45 games for the Cardinals over 3 seasons (2016-18), recording 38 total tackles and 5 passes defended. He was waived with an injury designation as part of Arizona’s final roster cuts ahead of the 2019 season and placed on injured reserve. He did not play during the 2019 season and became a free agent in March of 2020.

The Giants weren’t the only club looking to give Williams another chance. He has also had tryouts with the Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears this month.

Williams began his college football career at Oklahoma before transferring to Texas A&M. With the Aggies, he played two seasons at running back before Kevin Sumlin moved him to cornerback as a senior.
