Kirby Smart keeps building out his 2018 football staff for both on-field and off-field roles.
According to a report by FootballScoop, Georgia has hired Memphis graduate assistant Brian Michalowski in a defensive quality control role. At Memphis, Michalowski recruited the Kansas JUCOs, Maryland and the Chicago area, and he worked with newly-hired LBs coach Dan Lanning, who Smart hired to replace the departed Kevin Sherrer. Prior to joining Memphis’ staff, Michalowski served as the DC at Garden City Community College.
Michalowski also coached in the German Football League in 2014 as the Cologne Falcons’ DC. From 2007-2012, Michalowski coached at his alma mater Arizona State in a few different roles.
Most recently for Georgia’s staff, special teams coordinator Shane Beamer left for a promotion at Oklahoma under Lincoln Riley.
A graduate of the University of Florida and founder of Saturday Down South, Kevin is a college football enthusiast.
