The Green Bay Packers made a bit of a surprising move on Tuesday’s NFL Trade Deadline, and it involved former Alabama S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

Clinton-Dix has been a mainstay in the Packers’ secondary since he was drafted in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft — one of the few Green Bay defenders who hasn’t missed time with injuries.

However, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Packers sent Clinton-Dix to the Washington Redskins just minutes before Tuesday’s trade deadline:

Clinton-Dix sent a short message to Green Bay fans on his way out of town on Tuesday afternoon:

No word on what the Redskins gave up yet, but the team now has Clinton-Dix joining former Alabama defenders Jonathan Allen, Da’Ron Payne, Shaun Dion Hamilton and Ryan Anderson on the roster.

UPDATE: Washington has confirmed news of the trade.
