Former Kentucky head coach Hal Mumme is apparently getting set to become the new offensive coordinator at Jackson State under head coach Tony Hughes.

FOX Sports college football insider Bruce Feldman reported on Sunday that Mumme would assume the OC duties under Hughes — and also that he would continue doing a daily radio show, oddly enough.

Mumme hosts a show on ESPN Radio’s 105.9 FM in Jackson, Miss.

The Clarion Ledger first reported the hiring of Mumme.

The former Wildcats coach is regarded as somewhat of an Air Raid specialist, despite his poor head coaching record.

Mumme was Kentucky’s head coach from 1997 to 2000. The Wildcats compiled a 20-26 record in those four seasons.

At least the former UK coach is able to find work doing what he loves.
