Jeremy Patton leaves Arkansas practice injured and returns in walking boot, to be further evaluated

A starter on Arkansas’ offense left injured during practice on Monday, and it’s unclear how significant the injury might be.
According to several media reports, including one from Pig Trail Nation, tight end Jeremy Patton left the Razorbacks’ practice, later returning wearing a walking boot on his left foot. UPDATE: The school has since confirmed Patton’s injury. He previously exited with an injury in his lower left leg area during a field goal early in practice.
Patton played 11 games for Arkansas last season, starting six of them. He had 11 receptions for 189 yards.
Prior to joining the Razorbacks in 2017, Patton played two seasons for Arizona Western Community College. The former 4-star prospect then chose Arkansas over a host of offers from other schools.
Patton, who is listed at 6-foot-5, 253 pounds, was expected by many to be a key part of the Razorbacks’ offense in their first season under new coach Chad Morris. Patton developed into a starter a season ago, and he may have been poised to make even bigger contributions this year.
It is unclear how the injury will affect Patton’s status entering the season. He was scheduled to be further evaluated on Monday afternoon.
Arkansas opens the season against Eastern Illinois on Sept. 1.
