Former Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel’s NFL comeback attempt may have hit a snag over the weekend.

While in Hawaii for a wedding, Manziel and a friend reportedly got in a fistfight, with Manziel punching the other man in the face.

Though Manziel reportedly denies being the aggressor, he did try to make amends for the fight rather quickly by sending a bottle of champagne to the other man’s room the next day.

According to TMZ, the note with the bottle of champagne said, “Truly apologize. Should have never done that. Know this won’t make it better, but hope it starts the day off alright.”

Manziel also posted a picture of himself at the wedding, showing a bandaged right index finger:

As he tries to return to the NFL, it’s probably not the best idea for Manziel to go around injuring a finger on his throwing hand in fights with friends.
