Dansby, 34, signed a 4-year, $24 million deal in March 2014.
The 12-year veteran was arguably the Browns’ best defensive player last season. His 108 combined tackles was 27 more than any other player. He also led the team with 3 interceptions (taking two back for touchdowns) to go with 2 forced fumbles and 6 pass defenses.
Dansby has been a force in the NFL since being taken in the second round of the 2004 draft by the Arizona Cardinals, where he played for six seasons before going to the Miami Dolphins for three seasons. He rejoined the Cardinals for the 2013 season before spending the previous two campaigns in Cleveland.
In his time at Auburn, Dansby was a First-Team All-America selection in 2003, and he was a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation’s top linebacker.
