The Kentucky Wildcats fan who was injured during a drive-by shooting incident in Columbia, S.C., where there were eight victims, has been released from the hospital, her fiance wrote on Facebook.

In the posts, Jimmy Brannon gave continued updates on his fiance, Denise Massey, who was shot in the face in the early morning hours of Sept. 16, WIS-TV reported.

In the incident, police officers said an altercation at the Empire Supper Club on Lady Street led to shots being fired. That nightclub has since been deemed a public nuisance by Police Chief Skip Holbrook and their business license has been revoked, Columbia Police officials said in a press conference.

In one of the post, Brannon thanked people who helped him during the ordeal during her recovery.

“Denise Massey update per Denise’s facebook post: “I get to come home tomorrow……and by car. I’m so excited. Thanks for everyone’s support.”

“….i want to say how proud I am of Denise Massey. Totally innocent, given up for dead, by me; has had a horrible week of pain and procedures, lost some vision in one eye, still faces at least one surgery, more pain and procedures and a lifetime of watchful care….In spite of that she has an opportunity to live, with relatively few limitations. And displays (most of the time) her normal sense of humor (which is debateably acceptable)…..her first attempted facebook post which she couldn’t perform due to her condition in icu was “IT’S ALIVE”……
And through all that she is most worried about how I am doing.
In my opinion, what she lacks in common sense for putting up with me, is far exceeded by the fact that she is a fairly extraordinary person.”
