Lane Kiffin has done a remarkable job in his first season at FAU, and it looks like he will be staying around for a while.
ESPN’s Chris Low reported Tuesday that Kiffin has agreed to a 10-year contract to remain with the Owls through 2027. Kiffin led FAU to a 10-3 record this season while leading a dynamic offense that averaged 39.8 points per game. It is the first winning season for the Owls since 2008.
There was speculation around the country that Kiffin may turn his stay at FAU into a bigger coaching job somewhere, but it appears he is interested in staying and building something in Boca Raton.
Nothing official has been announced as of yet. The Owls will play Akron in the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl Tuesday night.
Earlier this month, @Lane_Kiffin told me he was stoked about the future at FAU. Well, he's just agreed to a new 10-year deal with the Owls that runs through December 2027. FAU has won 9 in a row and plays Akron tonight in the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl.
