Report: Lane Kiffin contacted about 49ers offensive coordinator position

Lane Kiffin and Chip Kelly on the same staff?
Apparently, the Alabama offensive coordinator was contacted about the San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator position, according to a source.
There aren’t any specifics at the time as to what happened when San Francisco contacted Kiffin.
Kelly was hired as the 49ers head coach last Thursday on a four-year deal. He was fired by the Philadelphia Eagles after three seasons with the team.
Kelly posted back-to-back 10-6 seasons in Philadelphia before the team went a disappointing 7-9 this season.
As for Kiffin, the 49ers gauged his interest in the same position a year ago, but Kiffin decided to remain put in Tuscaloosa.
