ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit is reporting that Lane Kiffin has hired his offensive coordinator at FAU, Baylor’s Kendal Briles.

The Briles hire is good news for Alabama. Kiffin’s original target for the position was reportedly Crimson Tide offensive analyst Mike Locksley. On Dec. 15, Football Scoop reported that Locksley had been hired to be FAU’s offensive coordinator. Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports later tweeted that the report was inaccurate.
Locksley is well-known as an ace recruiter and has been a running backs coach, offensive coordinator and head coach at previous stops. He joined the Alabama staff in March.
