As the NFL prepares to start its 2020 season, there have been a number of players have run-ins with COVID-19.

There’s even a new list for players to be put on this season — the reserve/COVID-19 list. Being put on that list doesn’t mean you’ve tested positive for the virus, though, just that you’ve been around someone who may have it.

That list was reportedly put into use by the Detroit Lions on Saturday, as star QB (and former Georgia standout) Matthew Stafford was placed on it:

That’s bad news for the Lions, obviously, as Stafford has been the team’s steady presence at quarterback since he was drafted with the No. 1 overall pick back in 2009.

Will this affect his regular-season availability? We’ll find out moving forward.
