The LSU Tigers have an opening at the defensive coordinator position, as Dave Aranda left to take the Baylor head coaching job.

Now, the Tigers could bring back a very familiar name — one with ties to the 2007 title under Les Miles.

Per FootballScoop.com, Bo Pelini could be in the mix to land the position. However, the report states that Pelini would like Youngstown State, where he is currently the head coach, to give him some assurances first:

From Pelini’s perspective, source tells FootballScoop Bo would like to have assurances that his brother Carl would become head coach at Youngstown before making this move if possible.

Would Pelini leave the FCS head coaching ranks to rejoin LSU as the defensive coordinator? We’ll see as LSU’s search progresses.
