DBU took a major hit Wednesday.

Sources have told The Times-Picayune that potential All-SEC safety Jalen Mills suffered a fractured fibula during LSU’s morning practice session, putting him on the shelf for the next 4 to 6 weeks.

LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette confirmed that Mills left practice with an injury but did not specify its severity. Mills is one of the returning headliners at the back end for the Tigers and led the SEC’s strongest secondary last fall.

He has started all 39 games in his LSU career.
