A brief stay in Starkville is coming to an end for one Mississippi State staffer.

Defensive analyst Van Malone is reportedly leaving Mississippi State to become the cornerbacks coach at Kansas State. Legendary KSU coach Bill Snyder retired after this season. Malone will be working with new Wildcats coach Chris Klieman, former head coach at North Dakota State. Malone coached wide receivers at North Dakota State in 2003.

Malone was hired by MSU head coach Joe Moorhead in July. He had previously been SMU’s defensive coordinator from 2015-17.
