Published:

Next fall, new Mizzou head coach Eli Drinkwitz is going to call the Tigers’ offensive plays, with Ryan Walters serving as the defensive coordinator and play-caller on that side of the ball.

However, even though Drinkwitz will call plays, there still needs to be an offensive coordinator, and it appears the Tigers are zeroing in on a candidate.

Per 247Sports, TCU co-offensive coordinator Curtis Luper is the likely hire for Drinkwitz:

Luper worked with Drinkwitz at Auburn in 2011 and 2012. He obviously has another connection to the Tigers, as former TCU QB Shawn Robinson will be in the mix to start as Mizzou’s QB in 2020 and 2021.

The hiring is far from official at this point, but this would be an interesting addition to the Tigers’ staff.
