Over the weekend, a number of NFL stars took to Twitter to voice their concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic and how they didn’t feel the NFL was taking those concerns seriously.

It seemed the league could be in danger of not having a 2020 season, but Monday brought some optimism on that front.

Per ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the NFL and the NFL Players Association agreed on testing protocols, which will involve daily COVID-19 tests for 2 weeks. It will then go to every other day if the positive rate dips below 5%:

Meanwhile, fellow ESPN employee Adam Schefter reports that the league and the players are getting closer on nearly every issue in the buildup to the season:

Will a final deal be ironed out in time for Week 1? It is looking more likely.
