Some good news arrived this afternoon for Ole Miss after a scary incident at practice Saturday morning.
According to reports, sophomore DT Benito Jones had to be taken to the hospital after a hard hit during the scrimmage. Jones is ‘doing fine,’ according to his mother, reported Antonio Morales of The Clarion-Ledger.
Benito Jones' mother, Juanita, said Benito is doing fine and the doctor has confirmed he is OK.

Earlier reports suggested that while X-rays were expected to be taken of his spine, an Ole Miss spokesperson confirmed that he did not lose feeling in his arms or legs after the hit.
According to Ole Miss media relations, Jones did not lose feeling or movement in his extremities.

The 6-2, 285-pound lineman was a 5-star recruit coming out of high school and was expected to be a big part of the Ole Miss defense this fall. The Rebels don’t have much depth beyond Jones at his position.
