Now that former Arizona, Michigan and West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez has been hired as the Ole Miss offensive coordinator, the Rebels are doing what they can to make him comfortable.

According to a report from FootballScoop.com on Wednesday, that means they’re hiring someone who has a lot of experience with RichRod.

Per the report, current New Mexico OC Calvin Magee is expected to join the Rebels’ staff for 2019:

Sources tell FootballScoop that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, New Mexico offensive coordinator Calvin Magee is expected to join the Ole Miss staff.

Matt Luke recently announced the addition of Rich Rodriguez as his offensive coordinator, and the addition of Magee brings in someone that Rich Rod has a long history with.

Indeed, Magee served on Rodriguez’s staffs at Arizona, Michigan and West Virginia, often in an offensive coordinator role.

What role he’ll serve on the Ole Miss staff remains to be seen, but Rodriguez will be happy to have him on board.
