A major change could be coming to Butch Jones’ coaching staff.

In a look at the latest news on the coaching carousel, 247Sports’ Travis Haney reports that sources state that offensive coordinator Mike DeBord is considering retirement. DeBord, 60, was the head coach at Central Michigan from 2000-03, a period when Jones was on staff as running backs coach (2000) and offensive coordinator (2001-03). DeBord reunited with Jones in Knoxville in 2015 as the successor to Mike Bajakian.

Despite a disappointing (to say the least) season on defense, Haney’s sources indicate that defensive coordinator Bob Shoop will not be fired. The report also states that the strength program will get an “overhaul.”

Outside of the football offices, Chattanooga AD David Blackburn is expected to be school’s next athletic director.
