Published:

Arkansas OL coach Brad Davis recently left Fayetteville to take the same job on LSU’s coaching staff.

That left coach Sam Pittman with a key opening on his staff heading into the 2021 season. And, now, it seems he is nearing a hire.

Per FootballScoop, Pittman is close to bringing in a former Razorback with some offensive coordinator experience in the NFL in Dowell Loggains:

An Arkansas native who graduated from high school in Abilene, Texas, and then played for the Razorbacks in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Loggains most recently has been an senior offensive analyst on James Franklin’s Penn State staff.

Loggains doesn’t figure to take over as the OL coach. It was reported that Cody Kennedy was being moved from OL coach to TE coach, so Loggains figures to be the TE coach.

Loggains has been the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets, so he brings plenty of NFL experience to his new role.
