Report: Tennessee’s Alexis Johnson cleared by TN Student Judicial Panel

Tennessee defensive tackle Alexis Johnson was cleared by a Tennessee Student Judicial Panel Wednesday, which allows him the chance to return to the football team, WNML’s Jimmy Hyams reported.

Johnson was suspended indefinitely from the University of Tennessee football team after being arrested in February on charges of aggravated assault and false imprisonment following an incident with a woman on Feb. 14.
However, the recent Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College transfer and his attorney Gregory P. Isaacs reached an agreement with the Knox County District Attorney General’s office that would dismiss the false imprisonment charge and reduce the felony aggravated assault to misdemeanor domestic assault in April, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.
The agreement was announced on April 21 and the charge would be dismissed around the same time in October, according to the newspaper. Johnson, a former four-star recruit, was held out spring practice.
