Senior safety Armani Watts has been a staple in the Texas A&M defensive backfield for four years, but he’ll be noticeably absent for the Belk Bowl Friday.
Watts will miss the bowl game due to an injury, according to the Houston Chronicle’s Brent Zwerneman.
Watts has had a big career in College Station, and he was recently named first-team All-SEC and third-team AP All-America for 2017. He was the defensive unit’s captain and started all 12 games this season making 82 tackles, four INTs and two forced fumbles.
Watts’ absence leaves a big void in the Aggies’ secondary ahead of facing Wake Forest.
The Belk Bowl kicks off Friday, December 29 at 1:00 pm ET.
