Report: Texas WR transferring, considered Alabama, Texas A&M in high school

According to a report by 247Sports, Texas wide receiver (6-3, 215) DeAndre McNeil will transfer.

McNeal’s not allowed to transfer to any school in the Big 12, Notre Dame, UTEP or California, but he could transfer to the SEC. He’d have to sit out a year.

Before signing with Texas in the 2015 recruiting class, McNeil considered both Texas A&M and Alabama, with the Aggies being one of his three finalists. McNeal should have a number of transfer options.

The Mesquite, Texas, product was suspended for a violation of team rules in August.

He was rated a four-star prospect and was ranked as the nation’s No. 20 overall athlete and the No. 44 prospect in the state of Texas’ 2015 class by 247Sports Composite Rankings.
