When starting QB Tony Romo went down with an injury this preseason, many wrote off the Dallas Cowboys.

However, rookie QB Dak Prescott, a fourth-round pick from Mississippi State, took over and has led the Cowboys to an impressive 7-1 record.

Now, as Romo nears his return, an awkward situation may develop as the team decides who will start moving forward.

However, according to NFL.com, Romo is OK with serving as Prescott’s backup. Since Prescott has thrown for 12 touchdowns and two interceptions, having Romo willing to sacrifice his starting job for the good of the team is important.

If Prescott struggles, though, the Cowboys have a proven veteran who can take over and guide the team to the playoffs.

The Cowboys look to improve to 8-1 this afternoon when they travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. The game kicks off at 4:25 p.m. Eastern time and can be seen on FOX.
