The day after the college football regular season wraps up is typically filled with coaching turnover, and this season has not been totally different.
Reports surfaced on Sunday that Western Kentucky has fired head coach Mike Sanford after just his second season in charge of the Hilltoppers after going 3-9 in 2018.

Sanford served as the offensive coordinator at Notre Dame for two seasons before being hired by Western Kentucky in 2017. the Hilltoppers got to the bowl game in his first season, going 6-7, but regressed this year. Western Kentucky finished the year 3-9, and Sanford will lose his job despite finishing the season with back-to-back victories over UTEP and Louisiana Tech.
