A Georgia assistant with ties to Jimbo Fisher is reportedly in the running to be the new offensive coordinator at Texas A&M.

James Coley, a former offensive coordinator at Miami and Florida State, has been the wide receivers coach at Georgia since January of 2016. Coley has a reputation as a top notch recruiter, particularly in South Florida as he’s a native of Miami. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and Radi Nabulsi of Rivals’ UGASports.com each reported Coley being a leading candidate to join Fisher with the Aggies.

Coley was the offensive coordinator at Florida State from 2010-12 and at Miami from 2013-15. Previously, he served as an offensive assistant with the Miami Dolphins in 2005-06, and was a graduate assistant for the 2003 national champion LSU.

Coley’s credited with being the main recruiter for 2018 commitments Kearis Jackson and Elijah Moore, both 4-star wide receiver prospects.
