Kentucky’s first-year offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello has a lot of positive qualities he loves about his quarterback Will Levis.
Scangarello spoke with reporters this week and shared that he’s looking for improved footwork for Levis.
“He’s such a competitive guy,” the offensive coordinator said. “He wants to play every play like it’s his last, which I love – unless it’s your quarterback.”
Scangarello said he wants Levis to protect himself so that he can extend his career.
On what he still wants to see from Will Levis:
"He's gotten a little loose with his footwork, led to some high balls. And protecting his body. He's such a competitive guy. He wants to play every play like it's his last, which I love – unless it's your quarterback"

Cont.: "If he can protect himself on 3-4 plays a game where he's exposing himself… Do that over a 15-year career and add up the hits. It'll change your life.
That's what I want from him – protect yourself and be a little smarter in that area. The guy's pretty dang good"

Levis is clearly the best offensive player for Kentucky as it looks to be a serious contender for the SEC East, and challenge Georgia.
In 3 game this 2022 season, Levis has completed 61-of-91 of his passes for 882 yards, 6 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, and a quarterback rating of 161.4. Levis is considered one of the top early prospects for the 2023 NFL Draft.
In his breakout year last season, Levis completed 233-of-353 of his passes for 2,826 yards, 24 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
