Richard Jibunor is staying in the state of Alabama.

If you missed the news last month, the redshirt freshman entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal after spending only one season on The Plains. While entering the portal does not guarantee a transfer, it appears Jibunor has made the decision to in fact leave the Auburn program for good.

Jibunor has decided to follow former Auburn offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey to Troy, according to John Garcia Jr. of 247Sports. Lindsey left Auburn following the conclusion of the 2018 regular season, leading the way for Gus Malzahn to take back the team’s offensive play-calling duties.

Jibunor signed with Auburn out of Athens Christian in the 2018 recruiting cycle. He was rated as a four-star prospect and appeared in only four games last fall, which enabled him to keep his redshirt status in 2018.
