The Tennessee Volunteers were already down a big man when the NCAA ruled Uros Plavsic ineligible after transferring from Arizona State.

Now, they’ll have to deal with even less depth in the front court, as it was revealed that redshirt sophomore F Zach Kent had stepped away from the team.

After a blowout win over Alabama State, coach Rick Barnes said Kent remains enrolled at Tennessee, but it is unknown if or when he’ll return:

Kent had appeared in 2 games so far this season, averaging 1.5 points and 1.0 rebounds in those games.

What the future holds for Kent remains to be seen, but for now, the Vols will have to rely on John Fulkerson and Olivier Nkamhoua to take on a lot of the front court minutes.
