RJ Young questions if Georgia is already ‘bored with winning’ after back-to-back national titles
R.J. Young isn’t sure if Georgia still has the same fire after winning two national titles in a row.
The Bulldogs are trying to win three-straight national titles this season and Young questioned whether they’re bored of winning in dominant fashion on Friday.
“It’s a Georgia team that was down to Auburn until Brock Bowers put on his backpack and went to work for you,” said Young. “It is a team that was down at halftime against South Carolina. South Carolina ain’t nobody. If you do this against this Florida, who is playing some of its best football, you will take an L. I wonder if we’ve already reached the point in the Georgia journey where they are bored with winning.”
Brock Bowers will miss the game while recovering from ankle surgery. Young is interested in seeing who steps up in Brock Bowers’ absence.
“This game is interesting because Georgia is still favored by 14.5 points. I don’t know if the Bulldogs should be on upset alert, but it can’t hurt,” said Young. “The reason is I wanna know who straps on the Brock Bowers backpack and says, ‘Jump on my back. I gotcha.'”
Young is banking on Daijun Edwards stepping up for the Bulldogs. If Edwards is able to run the ball, the rest of the offense will have success.
“My money is on Daijun Edwards. I think that dude at tailback is great,” said Young. “If Edwards can do what he’s done in recent weeks and run for 150 yards, it feels like you can beat this Florida team that’s surging.”
