A former Hoover (Alabama) High School standout, Ashford is in Year 6 of his college career. After spending 2020 and ’21 at Oregon without making an appearance, he decided to come home and play for Auburn.
Ashford spent 2 seasons at Auburn. In 2022, he made 12 appearances, including 9 starts. In 2023, however, he made just 1 start over 10 appearances. He transferred to South Carolina for 2024.
At South Carolina, Ashford played in 8 games, but made only 1 start. He’s coming off a season in which he was 23-of-32 passing for 324 yards and 2 touchdowns. Ashford also ran 41 times for 227 yards and 2 TDs.
For his career, Ashford has completed 51.8% of his passes for 2,082 yards, 11 TDs and 9 interceptions. He has rushed 240 times for 1,154 yards and 14 scores.
