Robert Griffin III getting crushed on social media during Baylor-Auburn

Robert Griffin III has a new home after being fired from ESPN after several years. The 2011 Heisman Trophy winner is now with FOX, replacing Brock Huard as Jason Benetti’s partner on the network’s No. 2 commentary team behind Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt.
And Griffin made his debut with the network at a familiar place. The 9-year NFL veteran and former Baylor star is at McLane Stadium in Waco on Friday as the Bears open their season against Auburn.
During his time at ESPN, Griffin was always a polarizing figure among fans due to his broadcasting style. Some liked it and felt that his calls and unusual turns of phrases breathed new life into games. Others weren’t as fond of him and found his approach grating and annoying.
Based on the social media reaction after one half of play in Waco, that negative sentiment hasn’t changed, even as Griffin has changed employers. College football fans who tuned into FOX’s Week 1 broadcast weren’t shy at all about what they thought about Griffin’s commentary.
