Robert Muschamp is reportedly heading to the NFL after spending the last 8 years in the SEC as a player and an assistant. Muschamp will reportedly be a quality control coach for the Los Angeles Chargers, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz.
The nephew of Georgia co-defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, Robert has been on UGA’s staff as an analyst for the past 2 seasons. He joined the Bulldogs after 2 seasons on Jeremy Pruitt’s Tennessee staff as a graduate assistant (2019-20) after his Auburn playing career.
As a player, Muschamp was a 3-star linebacker in the 2015 recruiting class. He began his Auburn career as a walk-on.
Muschamp saw his first game action in 2016, playing fullback in the Tigers’ game against Alabama A&M. Muschamp did not see any game status during Auburn’s 2017 season, but earned scholarship status in 2018 as a tight end after preseason camp.
