Rodrigo Blankenship showed off some new wheels ahead of the Indianapolis Colts’ preseason game on Saturday, and the former Georgia kicker was all smiles.
Blankenship arrived in Lucas Oil Stadium wearing Heelys as the 25-year-old showed that he’s truly a kid at heart.
Blankenship is in a preseason competition with Jake Verity, a familiar experience as he’s won kicking competition the previous 2 preseasons.
“There’s competition at every position on every team, every year, absolutely,” Blankenship said, per Fox 59. “My mindset is I’ve got to earn the right to be here. It doesn’t matter what happened the year before or the game before. Every opportunity I have, I feel like I have to earn it.
“It’s going to feel like that every single year, regardless the situation . . . high school, college or the NFL. Regardless what year it is or what I did the year before, there is competition.”
He’s kept that mentality since he was a walk-on at Georgia, and later an undrafted free agent in the NFL.

Blankenship is trying to get all the way back after he suffered a hip injury during pregame warm-ups in Week 5 last season at Baltimore.
