Rolando McClain wants another crack at the NFL.

During his collegiate career, McClain racked up 274 tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks for Nick Saban’s Alabama defenses from 2007-2009. McClain helped the Tide to the 2010 BCS National Championship and was a two-time All-SEC Selection.

The former Alabama defender last appeared in an NFL game back in 2015 but after failing several drug tests, the league suspended McClain for the entire 2016 season. He has not played in the NFL since that time.

Despite the setbacks, McClain hasn’t given up on a potential return to the NFL. According to Matt Zenitz of AL.com, McClain is attempting to land an NFL training camp spot as he attempts a comeback to the game. Considering he’s only 29, McClain may have several years remaining to play if he can handle his business off the field.

McClain entered the league as the eighth overall selection in the 2010 NFL Draft. Originally drafted by the Raiders, McClain was released by Oakland following an alleged practice incident. McClain eventually found his way to the Dallas Cowboys and managed to resurrect his career before getting suspended by the NFL.
